Content Body

Ibis Aerospace came to last month’s NBAA Convention with a restyled full-scale cabin mockup of its Ae270 turboprop single. The new interior provides fully adjustable leather seating in a club arrangement and includes two foldout tables, an ultrasuede headliner, a fabric-covered side ledge, adjustable lighting and environmental controls. Additionally, the mockup had two storage compartments just aft of the cockpit designed to hold refreshments, flight manuals, an entertainment system and other items. Ibis at the show also announced three new distributors for the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6-42A-powered Ae270: Cutter Aviation of Phoenix; Woodland Aviation of Woodland, Calif.; and Field Aviation Sales of Mississauga, Ontario. Those signings raised the distributor total to eight, and the order book for the 1,300-nm (NBAA IFR) turboprop single now stands at 69 aircraft. Meanwhile, three Ae270 prototypes are continuing flight-test trials overseas, with certification pegged for the third quarter of this year.
