Content Body

Residents of Stuart, Fla., have filed a lawsuit against the Martin County Commission concerning a master plan that discusses increased capacity. The Witham Airport Action Majority (WAAM) has been formed to try to block expansion. A local news report quotes WAAM member John Whitescarver as saying, “It’s only at one-third capacity now. They violated the comprehensive master plan and will allow the airport to grow to three times what we have today.” County commissioners said only a conceptual plan had been discussed and that no new buildings are planned at this time. No court date has been set for the WAAM lawsuit.
