Bombardier has announced a modification program to allow the Learjet 35 and 55 to be upgraded with the cabin interiors of the Lear 31A and Lear 60, respectively. According to George Gonzalez, vice president and general manager of Bombardier Business Aviation Services, the manufacturer is now looking to offer new interior modifications to other existing Learjet models.
The so-called “60 in 55” modification includes a full aft lavatory that doubles as an additional seat certified for landings and takeoffs. The renovation project has created the largest internal baggage compartment of any of the Learjet models. Other improvements include a new cabin entertainment amplification system, larger and stronger work tables and pleated window shades.
The “31A in 35” modification provides more storage space with additional drawers and redesigned cabinets, including a large service cabinet with room for five food trays. The new look 35 also features the more maneuverable 31A seats and an environmentally friendly fresh water lavatory.
