Worldwide access with Global One

Late last month Satcom Direct Inc. of Satellite Beach, Fla., announced it has received a patent on its proprietary Global One Number ground-to-air calling technology.

With the Global One Number technology, an aircraft dispatcher or other company officer would need only dial a single 10-digit number to call the aircraft anywhere in the world. The One Number is customized to each aircraft and allows voice, fax and data satcom calling.

Founded in 1997 by satcom engineer Jim Jensen, Satcom Direct recently opened an operations center in Minneapolis that allows Satcom Direct to provide customers with real-time satcom connection data and aircraft configuration information to and from the aircraft.
