The European Commission (EC) has sent a formal complaint to the Spanish government regarding two framework agreements that open the door for Eurocopter to supply helicopters to the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. The Commission objects on the grounds that no tender was advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union and both agreements allow for the extension of their duration, putting other bidders at a disadvantage. If it does not receive a satisfactory reply by August 5, the Commission can refer the matter to the European Court of Justice.
