Bombardier’s Flexjet Asia executive charter network is expected to begin operations during the second quarter. The program was announced at the NBAA Convention in December.
The program will be run by three selected operating partners: Jet Asia, an aircraft management firm based at Macao International Airport near Hong Kong; Shandong Airlines of Jinan, China, some 270 nm south of Beijing; and Subic International Air Charter at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, the Philippines.
Customers will be guaranteed aircraft availability with 24-hr notice. Bookings can be
made in English, Cantonese or Mandarin via telephone or online at Bombardier’s Skyjet management system.
Subic International Air Charter operates a mixed fleet of Learjets and is set to be the first operator offering Flexjet Asia flights. Next year it is due to take delivery of a new super-midsize Continental.
Shandong Airlines is about to take delivery of three new Challenger 604s. It already operates a growing fleet of the Canadian manufacturer’s regional jets, including five 50-seat CRJ200s.
Jet Asia currently operates a pair of Challengers that it manages for a Macao-based company. All three operators have been independently audited for service quality and safety standards.
