Tour de France cycling champion Lance Armstrong received a hero’s welcome as he boarded his NetJets aircraft after winning the race in Paris for a historic fifth consecutive time on July 27. Pilots Francisco Carrilho and Adam Firth, along with flight attendant Patricia Masson, presented the American cyclist with a specially commissioned race winner’s yellow jersey signed by the 160 staff at the NetJets Europe operations center in Lisbon, Portugal. He was also given a 100-year-old bottle of vintage Port wine to mark his victory on the 100th Tour de France. Armstrong has been a NetJets Europe member for more than a year. From Paris, he flew to Gerona in Spain, where he has a home.
