Preliminary Report: Turboprop returns to airport after control problems

BEECH BE1900D, MILWAUKEE, WIS., JUNE 7, 2003–At 2 p.m. CDT Beech N901SK, operated by Skyway Airlines as Flight 1233, reported lateral control problems shortly after takeoff from Milwaukee General Mitchell International Airport (MKE). The crew declared an emergency and the aircraft returned to MKE, where it landed without incident.

After landing, the pilot reported about 45 degrees of right control-yoke deflection was required to maintain straight flight. No one on board the aircraft was injured. The aircraft had been in VMC on an IFR flight plan for a Part 121 operation destined for Sawyer International Airport in Gwinn, Mich.
