A marathon may be a grueling 26-mile race, but Marathon Flight Services in Kissimmee, Fla., has a new tool to help aircraft operators sprint through the billing process. Developed in conjunction with Conoco-Phillips 66 and Cornerstone Logic, the Prism credit-card processing software eliminates the need to reenter credit information two and sometimes three times. With a single card swipe, most credit cards can generate detailed billing for both the customer and the FBO. Touch-screen monitors complete credit-card processing and accounting in seconds. The Prism system is Phillips 66’s response to a survey of its operators on how to save time and money in processing their fuel orders.
For its part, Marathon is planning to further its expansion on the airport with a new hangar adjacent to its large overhead canopy. The new hangar will nearly triple Marathon’s aircraft storage capacity. Marathon management also reminds NBAA member companies that although Orlando Executive is the site of the NBAA Convention static display next month, Kissimmee Airport is closer to the convention center. Further, the airport is installing an ILS to its 6,000-foot runway. The ILS is expected to be in service in December.
