In The Works: Boeing BBJ3

Boeing’s first BBJ3 is nearing completion at DeCrane Aircraft in Georgetown, Del., which is installing long-range fuel tanks and a head-up display. Once this work is done and the fuel system is certified, the first BBJ3 will undergo interior completion at an undisclosed completion center of the customer’s choice. The auxiliary fuel tank system allows the BBJ3 to fly 4,725 to 4,535 nm, depending on passenger load. The $62.5 million (green) BBJ3 is based on Boeing’s 737-900ER and offers 1,120 sq ft of floor space, 35 percent more than the BBJ2. The completion will be done next year.
