Gulfstream picks autothrottle option for G150

Safe Flight Instrument Corp.’s AutoPower automatic throttle system will be an option on the Gulfstream G150, thanks to a contract that Gulfstream has signed with the White Plains, N.Y. company.

According to Safe Flight (Booth No. 5194), AutoPower is a full-regime automatic throttle system that delivers “significant” performance advantages. The company said the system reduces the need for pilots to continuously adjust the throttles during flight to maintain optimum conditions and results in increased situational awareness, reduced crew workload and enhanced passenger comfort. It will be certified under an FAA STC and will initially be available for installation on production aircraft. It will subsequently be available for retrofit on G150s in operation.
