Embraer has selected the Kollsman enhanced-vision system II (EVS II) from Elbit Systems of America for the Lineage 1000.
The forward-looking infrared camera system will be offered in combination with Rockwell Collins’s head-up guidance system (HGS) 5600E. “This system improves the capability of business aircraft to execute precision and nonprecision approaches and safely land in fog, rain, snow and other reduced-visibility conditions,” said Embraer vice president of executive jet programs Henrique Langenegger.
The optional Kollsman EVS II, combined with Rockwell Collins’s head-up display, will also provide Lineage 1000 customers with improved situational awareness in flight and during ground operations and reduced landing minimums on certain approaches. Certification of the system in the Lineage 1000 is expected by 2010.
