Constant Aviation gets FAA repair station Class 4 rating

The FAA has given a Class 4 repair station rating to Constant Aviation of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. The rating authorizes the company to work on all metal-construction aircraft with an mtow of more than 12,500 pounds. Only 2 percent of all repair stations worldwide have been awarded a Class 4 rating and Constant Aviation is the first in Ohio to receive the designation.

In addition to the new Class 4 rating, Constant holds Airframe Class 3 and Radio Class 1, 2, 3 ratings, making the facility one of 42 repair stations to hold both Class 3 and Class 4 ratings. (The majority of rating holders are manufacturers.)

Constant, an Embraer-authorized service center, has been involved with the ERJ 135 since 1998, serving both Legacy and corporate shuttle operators. “We were the first authorized service center to complete a 48-month inspection on a Legacy 600 and the first company to remove and replace a complete Legacy 600 wing assembly and three ERJ 135 nose sections,” said v-p of operations Stephen Maiden. To date Constant has completed thirteen 48-month or equivalent inspections and has logged more than 750,000 maintenance hours on the ERJ 135. 

As a Nextant Aerospace company, Constant has been involved with the launch of the Nextant 400NXT Beechjet 400A/XP retrofit and update program as well as the Beechjet 400A/XP Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 retrofit package.
