Content Body

On the heels of a delivery ceremony of the third maritime surveillance aircraft for the Japan Coast Guard, Field Aviation announced a follow-on contract for another three Dash 8 Q300s for the same customer. The deal brings to a total contract order to eight aircraft.

The latest delivery marks the 33rd Bombardier-built aircraft modified for use as patrol and surveillance platforms for six governments. The most recent job includes such features as an air-operable rear cargo door and a fuselage drop hatch, both facilitating airborne dispersal of life rafts, survival supplies and paratroops. The interior is created specifically for the mission and includes large, conformal observation windows and fuselage structural modifications.
