TSA Creates GA Liaison Position

The TSA has established a stakeholder liaison position dedicated to addressing concerns about recent security measures, including the Large Aircraft Security Program proposal, a security directive that would require additional screenings for general aviation pilots at commercial airports and “Operation Playbook.” Juan Barnes (e-mail:

The move comes after AOPA urged the agency to interface with pilots and operators to better understand how its policies affect the general aviation community. The TSA also plans to hold monthly teleconferences, the first of which took place on March 20.
