Preliminary Report: Eurocopter loses power

Eurocopter AS 350BA, Honolulu, Hawaii, Jan. 5, 2009–The Makani Kai Helicopters chartered AS 350 was transporting a worker to an antenna on top of a ridge when it lost power 10 feet from the landing spot and made an emergency landing. The commercial pilot maneuvered the helicopter to roll over on its right side so it wouldn’t slide down the steep slope. No one was injured, but the aircraft suffered substantial damage.
