Heavy-iron operators traveling to India and the neighboring region will soon have
a maintenance option. Timco Aviation Services and Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL), an Asian aeronautics manufacturing and repair company, have entered into a new joint venture agreement focused on developing comprehensive airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul services for transport-category aircraft. The facility will be located at HAL’s manufacturing complex at Bangalore Airport and will focus on providing scheduled C-checks and heavy maintenance services for operators of Airbus and Boeing single-aisle aircraft. Ground breaking is expected in the near future, but a time frame for completion has not yet been firmed up.
