The new Branson Airport in Missouri held a grand opening in May, and the privately owned and -financed airport opened its doors to general aviation traffic at its new FBO, Branson JetCenter. In addition to traditional FBO amenities, the JetCenter is distinguished by a stone fireplace, barnwood floors, wood-beam construction, short-game golf practice facility with putting green and driving range, 10 flavors of gourmet popcorn by The Big Popper (including yellow and white cheddar), a Sony PlayStation 3 gaming system, Blu-ray DVD player with movie library and sleep rooms. The JetCenter does charge landing and handling fees because the airport receives no public funding, but fees are waived with minimum fuel purchases.
