It shouldn’t be news that a corporate flight department is inviting the public to a day of fun at the local airport, but in an era when users of private jets are being vilified by the general media, this is an example of community relations that other flight departments might want to emulate. On July 25 from 4 to 7:30 p.m., the McDonald’s Aviation Services flight department is hosting its fifth annual Flying High barbecue at DuPage Airport near Chicago, along with Ronald McDonald House Charities Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana and the Lima Lima T-34 formation flight team. Greg Woods, McDonald’s senior director of aviation services, and chief pilot Matt Booth are co-chairing the event.
