The FAA has approved the Gulfstream Aerospace Long Beach, Calif. facility to perform engine and APU maintenance on the Gulfstream G150. It was previously approved to perform only airframe maintenance. “Being able to service the entire Gulfstream fleet at Long Beach is important,” said Mark Burns, Gulfstream president for product support. “It is an important geographic location for our operators.” With the latest authorization, the MRO can service and support G150 operators at their facility and in the field. It can perform maintenance and alterations, excluding overhaul, on the aircraft’s Honeywell TFE731-40A engines and its Honeywell RE100 APU. The facility was recently awarded the FAA’s 2008 aviation maintenance technician diamond certificate of excellence. It is the ninth consecutive year the facility has been recognized with the honor.
