Townsend–Where the Leather Meets the Road

At last month’s Ebace, Townsend Leather promoted its latest Milano collection of upholstery leather–four patterns in 14 colors each from rich creams to pewter, all inspired by the ancient Italian city of da Vinci.

The Johnstown, N.Y.-based firm also showed off its new Gerber hide-cutting machine operation, which allows digitized cutting to ensure the best yield from any hide.

A little added spice at the Ebace display came from Townsend’s latest venture–women’s shoulder bags. “It’s a new direction for us,” said marketing coordinator Alison Maloney.
