FAA Approval of Ku Internet STC Near

Innotech Aviation in Montreal is closing in on an FAA STC permitting installations of ViaSat Ku-band satellite data hardware aboard the Bombardier Global Express. ViaSat’s Yonder Ku-band service provides data connections in flight of up to 10 megabits per second, making it the fastest commercial Internet service available. The onboard hardware and tail-mounted antenna cost about $800,000 and the monthly service fee is $6,000 for unlimited use. The Yonder service, which provides broadband Internet and streaming tv connectivity, is now available throughout most of the world.
