Preliminary Reports - CRJ Lands Without Nosegear

At the conclusion of an uneventful Part 121 flight from San Francisco to Ontario, the crew attempted to lower the landing gear. Only the main gear extended and the crew used emergency procedures in an unsuccessful attempt to extend the nosegear. Following an aborted landing, a low-level flyby past the tower confirmed that the nosegear doors were open but the nosegear was still in its retracted position. The crew then made a successful emergency landing. There were no injuries to the 24 passengers or the three-member flight crew. The CRJ sustained minor damage to its lower fuselage.
