Sikorsky To Fly All-electric Helo

Sikorsky plans to fly an all-electric 300C training helicopter by year-end. The aircraft’s battery pack weighs 1,100 pounds and would yield only 15 minutes of flight time. A company representative emphasized that the helicopter is merely a “technology demonstrator” that is “good enough to prove the concept,” and far from practical commercial application.
