Global Helicopter Fleet To Grow by One-third

The world helicopter fleet will grow from 24,625 last year to 36,946 by 2015, according to a new study by Frost & Sullivan. However, it said demand would remain anemic until late 2011 or early 2012. The study notes that over the next five years one-fifth of new helicopter demand will come from the Asia-Pacific, African and Middle Eastern regions and that the global helicopter market will be challenged by a shortage of qualified pilots over the next decade.
