The new Aero Centex FBO officially opened on August 31 at Georgetown Municipal Airport north of Austin, Texas. Aero Centex features 25,000 sq ft of hangar and terminal space, as well as 70,000 sq ft of ramp space. The hangar complex includes a community hangar and private hangars available for short- or long-term lease. Amenities include pilot and customer lounges, Internet workstations with wireless Internet access, on-site rental car, catering and concierge services. Line service personnel are NATA Safety 1st-trained.

Aero Centex is the result of Winston Pfiester’s desire for a suitable airport and facilities for his business aircraft. The Austin area has limited choices since the downtown airport closed, although another alternative–Austin Executive Airport–will open soon. Pfiester is a pilot and president and CEO of the Chartwell Group, an Austin-based company that serves a variety of industries with information-based solutions. “Our vision for this new FBO was to provide an upscale base of operation for aircraft owners and operators who want convenient access to the Austin business corridor but without all the hassle of air and road congestion,” he said.
