Touching Bases: Avfuel scholarship winners

Fuel distributor Avfuel awarded its annual Avtrip scholarships to George Hoyt and Sage Santangelo. Hoyt received the first prize of $2,000 and a $500 savings bond. Based in Texas, Hoyt is a supervisor of aviation operations and a pilot and plans to use the money to help pay for his aviation administration degree. Santangelo is from Maine and plans to use her second-prize award of a $1,000 savings bond to keep flying and eventually give back to aviation through teaching and mentorship.
