StandardAeroís Winnipeg facility has been approved by Pratt & Whitney Canada as a PW100 designated overhaul facility. The facility also supports the PT6. The European service center team in Tilburg, The Netherlands, will continue to support PW100 and PT6A hot-section-level work, including full accessory capability, a comprehensive test cell and field service support. ìWeíve owned the facility in Tilburg since 1995 and itís been supporting PW100 engines since 1990,î Manny Atwal, vice president of turboprop programs for StandardAero, told AIN. One of the reasons for adding PW100 capability to the Winnipeg facility is proximity to the fleet. ìApproximately 60 percent of the worldís PW100-powered aircraft are in North America and Europe,î he said. According to Atwal, over the last 15 years StandardAero has processed more than 3,000 PW100s. ìThe ability to support multiple P&WC products from one location provides opportunities to improve overall service levels for our customers as we can cross-train technical personnel and move people around to best meet customer requirements,î Atwal said. ìCommon repair development engineering and component repair capabilities will increase part repairs for our customers, thereby reducing overall costs and turnaround time.î
