Eurocopter Chooses True Blue Backup Batteries

Under a contract signed by Eurocopter Deutschland and Mid-Continent, Eurocopter EC135 and EC145T2 models will be equipped with Mid-Continent Instruments True Blue Power MD835 emergency power supply systems. The MD835 features A123 Systems Nanophosphate lithium-ion chemistry, according to Mid-Continent, which offers stable chemistry, faster charging, consistent output, longer life and better cost performance in a unit “less than half the size and weight of existing solutions.” The MD835 weighs 63 percent less than an equivalent lead-acid battery, according to Mid-Continent director of sales Tom Genovese.
