Embraer has named West Star Aviation’s East Alton, Ill. facility an authorized service Center for the Phenom 100 and 300; the MRO’s St. Louis (SUS) facility is also included in the appointment. The company has a history with Embraer that dates back to the Phenom 100’s launch. David Roy, general manager, West Star ALN, told AIN, “When the Phenom 100 came out our Dallas and Grand Junction facilities were included in the launch of Embraer’s new Phenom Service Center Network.” Roy also pointed out that when the first Phenom 100s were delivered SimuFlite’s Phenom simulator was not yet operational and training had to be conducted in the aircraft. “Our Dallas facility was selected to provide maintenance support for the two Phenom 100s that were positioned on Alliance Airport in the Dallas area for the purpose of training. We provided a variety of services to the 100 and 300 models, including unscheduled maintenance, AOG support, removal and installation of components, engine and APUs, as well as all scheduled maintenance, modifications and repairs. We have close ties to Embraer and the Phenom product line,” he said.
