Content Body

Sheltair signed a lease agreement yesterday with the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey to manage and operate the general aviation facility at John F. Kennedy International Airport, its 14th FBO location. In doing so, it will become the first private FBO company to serve general aviation at the airport; the Port Authority has run the facility there since 1947 as the sole service provider. The lease includes a 3,100-sq-ft general aviation executive facility on 4.53 acres. “We are thrilled to bring Sheltair’s customer service and facilities to JFK International, one of the world’s most recognized airports,” said company CEO Jerry Holland. Sheltair will be making “significant” investments in ground support equipment and facility improvements. The remodeled facility will feature a pilot’s lounge, flight-planning room and passenger lounge, among other amenities. Sheltair will also offer crew car availability and complimentary shuttle service to JFK’s domestic and international terminals.
