The single-engine Privateer amphibian was to have flown earlier this year, but is currently still under construction, although now in the final assembly phase. The fuselage floor is complete, according to the company, and bulkheads and door frames have been installed, “including the spar carry-through bulkhead so that we are ready to install the wings.” The craft’s GE M601 turboprop engine will be installed after the fuselage is finished and following wing installation. Privateer is seeking a U.S. manufacturer to help bring the amphibian to market.
