New Hampshire Airport To Get New Runway

A groundbreaking ceremony was held at Boire Field in Nashua, N.H., at the end of October, marking the beginning of a $16 million runway construction project. The airport’s lone runway–5,500-foot 14/32–will be replaced. The new runway will be parallel to the existing runway and will be 500 feet longer, allowing large-cabin business jets to take off with full fuel. One end of the existing runway is 10 feet higher than the other, but the new runway will be level. The project was funded by federal and state department of transportation grants and is scheduled for completion next fall.
