The FAA supplemental type certificate for Garmin’s GTN series touchscreen avionics has been validated by EASA, and the GTN 650 and 750 can now be installed in aircraft registered in Europe. The GTN avionics are satellite-based augmentation system-enabled using both Waas (U.S.) and Egnos (Europe) for precision GPS LPV approaches. Both units also meet European requirements such as 8.33-kHz frequency spacing, immunity from FM broadcast and B-Rnav/P-Rnav as well as optional Class-B Taws.
