FAA Proposes Airworthiness Directive on Bell 412 Collective

The FAA is proposing an airworthiness directive for the Bell Helicopter 412, 412EP and 412CF. It is the result of a reported failure of a collective lever. The proposed actions are intended to detect a crack in the collective lever, which could lead to failure of the collective lever and subsequent loss of control of the helicopter. The FAA is taking comments on the proposed AD until July 23.
