Soloy Ends Relationship with Woodward Governors

Soloy Aviation Solutions’ long-standing relationship with Woodward propeller governors used on its Cessna 206/207 Mk 1 Turbine Pac has ended as a result of Woodward’s transferring its line to Honeywell. “While the Soloy gearboxes seem to last forever, vendor-supplied accessories come and go based on the supplier’s business needs,” said Soloy CEO Dave Stauffer. “We were fortunate to find a manufacturer with lower acquisition and competitive overhaul costs.” MT-Propeller, a German manufacturer of composite propellers, is supplying an alternate governor approved in Germany as a PMA replacement. Soloy received FAA certification for the MT-Propeller governor last week.
