International Communications Group of Newport News, Va., has developed a new “eRouter” series that it describes as “a new, intelligent data management system and communications access point that will be available in three different versions.
The baseline variant–ERT-100 and ERT-120–will perform data routing functions, while the ERT-140 also provides such enhanced features as VoIP, analog and digital telephony and data transfer improvements such as acceleration and compression.
The e-Router will provide airborne connectivity for electronic flight bags, passenger PCs, smartphones and other IP devices. At 12 inches by 8.5 inches by 3.75 inches, it is a flange-mount box that offers access to multiple communications networks such as Inmarsat, SwiftBroadand, Ku and Ka band Viasat satellites and Iridium.
