Content Body

Connecticut-based FBO operator Volo Aviation has been awarded a five-year contract to manage the lone FBO at Capital City Airport (CXY) in New Cumberland, Pa. Previously known as CXY Aviation, the FBO was recently purchased by Skyport Holdings, an investment group that brought Volo in to run the facility. It will be rebranded as the third Volo Aviation location, joining FBOs at Sikorsky Memorial Airport in Bridgeport, Conn., and at Florida’s Sebring Regional Airport.

CXY opened in 1930 as Capital Landing Field and served as the Pennsylvania capital’s airport until the late 1960s, when nearby Olmstead AFB was converted into Harrisburg International Airport. Today CXY and its 5,000-foot main runway serves as the region’s primary general aviation airport. The FBO sits on a 500,000-sq-ft leasehold and features a 3,500-sq-ft terminal, along with 145,000 sq ft of hangar and office space.
