Beringer Offers Nosewheel for DHC-6 Twin Otter

Beringer Wheels & Brakes is offering a corrosion-resistant two-piece nosewheel for the DHC-6 Twin Otter. Designed using 3-D FEM software, it is said to stand up to severe use, including wet environments, by sealing the bearings to keep water out. “This alloy wheel is stronger and much less brittle [than the original],” said president Gilbert Beringer. “Our machined-from-billet aluminum unit is much less prone to cracking and corrosion than the old original magnesium cast wheel; the special sealed bearings and lip seals reduce downtime and maintenance costs; and the distinctive red anodized finish won’t corrode like the original’s magnesium.” The unit comes assembled with STC paperwork for $5,999.
