Subject Area
Content Body

Surf Air, a charter operator offering all-you-can-fly trips between select California cities for a monthly fee, received its FAA operating certificate and plans to begin flying on June 12. Surf Air is flying Pilatus PC-12 single-engine turboprops with two pilots, and the first cities served will be Los Angeles and San Francisco, using airports in Burbank and San Carlos.

The PC-12s will be flown on a regular schedule, and other destinations will soon include Santa Barbara and Monterey, then Palm Springs, San Diego, Sacramento, Lake Tahoe and the Sonoma/Napa area. Members can sign up for flights on the Surf Air website.

Although current pricing is not yet available, an earlier announcement cited a first-tier membership of $790 per month, with two higher tiers available. Surf Air founder and president Wade Eyerly told AIN that a final pricing schedule will be announced shortly.

There is no restriction on the number of flights a member can take, but there is a limit to the number of reservations a member can hold at any one time. Members can bring a guest along for free, as long as the reservation is made at least two weeks ahead of time, the company said.
