Mexican service provider Asertec expects to break ground this month on a new FBO terminal at San Antonio International Airport in Texas, the company’s third location and its first in the U.S. Since last November, Asertec has been operating an FBO at the airport out of offices in the former Sino-Swearingen facility, now a hub of aviation businesses known as Skyplace Center. One of four FBOs on the airport, the Asertec location offers passenger and pilot lounges, a conference room, flight-planning room, refreshment center and tenant office space, along with a 22,000-sq-ft hangar that general manager Robert Lee said is fully occupied. The new approximately 11,000–sq-ft terminal is expected to be completed in January. Asertec also operates FBOs in Monterrey, Nuevo León, and Toluca, Estado de México.
