Shadin Avionics has released a new digital discrete switch (DDS) data converter with a purchase order from an undisclosed business jet manufacturer. The DDS is derived from Shadin’s AIS-360 digital platform; requirements were defined by an urgent customer need to keep an aircraft introduction schedule on track.
Shadin (Booth No. N629) said the flexibility and modularity of the AIS platform enabled it to develop and qualify the customer-defined DDS box in less than one month.
The Minneapolis-based company developed the AIS family of data converters to quickly respond to “an ever present demand” for unique, flight-worthy data conversion applications on aircraft. The AIS-360 DDS joins the AIS-380 analog, AIS-360 digital, AIS-450 synchro and AIS-460 military in Shadin’s family of FAA-certified data converters.
