Avicus Sees Boundless Opportunity In China Market

Newly formed Avicus Group (Booth P232) is here at ABACE 2014 to introduce its full slate of aviation services to the growing China market. Launched by Jane McBride, CEO, and Patricia Zinkowski, president, the company’s capabilities include worldwide charter brokering, creation of customized international travel programs, aircraft sales and leasing and aviation consulting.

McBride and Zinkowski began doing business in mainland China in 2011, opening Private Jet Journeys, a charter brokerage, in Shanghai. Avicus is an extension of that company, which will continue specializing in high-end travel packages, and brings the additional services of sales and leasing, aviation consulting and online charter technology to the group.

The duo started working together in 1985 when they founded charter broker Flight Time in Boston, which specialized in large aircraft charters. In between running Flight Time and launching Private Jet Journeys, McBride and Zinkowski took time off from aviation to found nonprofit organization FriendsofThaiDaughters.org to help protect young Asian girls from human trafficking.

With a representative office in Shanghai, Avicus Group is headquartered in the U.S. and has sales offices in London and Hong Kong. The company is designed to provide a range of aviation services to clients worldwide, but also to connect the traditional world of western aviation with the China market–what Avicus said will be “the future center of the global aviation industry.”
