MidairUSA Construction Proceeds

After a five-month delay, MidairUSA has resumed construction of an expansion project at Melbourne International Airport. The FAA had ordered a work stoppage, citing concerns about the project’s impact on airspace and air traffic. The 87,000-sq-ft expansion is expected to be completed this October and will consist of an additional ramp, two hangars and administrative offices, as well as sales, planning and engineering facilities and a warehouse. The facility will house a back shop for parts fabrication and repairs. The Part 145 repair station holds FAA, Bermuda and EASA approvals.
