Oil & Gas UK Reacts To UK CAA Review

Oil & Gas UK, the lobbying association that represents UK oil and gas companies–especially the ones operating production platforms in the North Sea–has expressed doubts about the review the UK CAA published in February. “We believe that the CAA’s proposed timescale does not take into account the full risk picture for offshore workers; for example, we are concerned that limiting helicopter seating capacity from June could lead to this summer’s planned safety-critical maintenance programs for many installations being postponed until 2015,” said health and safety director Robert Paterson.
