Luxembourg-based business jet charter, maintenance and brokerage firm Luxaviation acquired London Executive Aviation (LEA) this week, making Luxaviation one of Europe’s largest business aviation groups. With a fleet of 26 aircraft, ranging from the Beechcraft King Air 200 to the Dassault Falcon 2000LX, LEA is the largest business aviation charter operator in the UK.

Similar to other Luxaviation Group companies, LEA will retain its identity, leadership and operational independence while benefiting from valuable synergies within the group. In fact, LEA will continue to be led by CEO Patrick Margetson-Rushmore and managing director George Galanopoulos, both of whom retain significant shareholdings in the company.

Combined, the companies have 470 employees and 90 aircraft across five European operating companies: Luxaviation (Luxembourg), Luxaviation (Germany), Abelag (Belgium), Unijet (France) and LEA (UK). Luxaviation Group is also active in the Asia-Pacific market through a commercial office in Singapore.

Luxaviation said LEA will benefit from economies of scale for fuel, insurance and training, as well as increased aircraft availability and a broader range of aircraft types. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
