Content Body

NetJets’ repair stations achieved a new safety milestone yesterday, entering Level III of the FAA’s safety management system (SMS) program. As such, NetJets is the first repair station in the U.S. to achieve this safety level.

“This achievement unequivocally demonstrates NetJets’ commitment to be a leader in safety and complements the Level IV SMS held by NetJets flight operations,” said NetJets Aviation president Bill Noe. “NetJets is dedicated to setting the standard for operational, maintenance and training procedures in the industry. We are immensely proud of achieving this important safety milestone.”

The FAA’s SMS pilot program provides a four-level system to acknowledge development of a formal SMS according to FAA expectations and international standards. The overall objective of the program is to guide operators with developing and implementing an integrated, comprehensive safety management system for their organization.

To accomplish this safety milestone, NetJets conducted thousands of hours of additional safety training for its employees and created new management review procedures to ensure the highest levels of safety are always maintained.
