AgustaWestland is displaying two of its lighter helicopters here at the LABACE show in the form of a Power and a GrandNew, and will also unveil the cabin interior for its new AW169 helicopter. Interior configurations and entertainment options will be promoted for the 4.5-metric-ton light/intermediate machine. Twenty AW169s are already on order for Brazilian and other South American customers.
On show at the company’s outside exhibit (5108) are examples of the AW109 Power and GrandNew light twins. Both are customer aircraft and are outfitted with corporate and VIP interiors, respectively. The GrandNew can be configured to accommodate up to seven passengers and pilot, offering a cruise speed of 154 knots (285km/h).
More than 150 AW109 Powers and Grand/GrandNew aircraft have been sold in Latin America, accounting for roughly half of the total AgustaWestland fleet operating in the continent. As well as promoting the aircraft themselves, the company is also highlighting its wide range of customer-support and training operations in the region.
