StandardAero Business Aviation received FAA Satellite Repair Station authorization for its new satellite facility at Houston Hobby (HOU) Airport. The company launched the new repair station last June to supplement its facility at George Bush International (IAH).
The new facility is located at the southeast corner of Houston Airport property and has direct access to the airfield for servicing aircraft within the airport perimeter. StandardAero also sees opportunities for servicing aircraft based at surrounding airports such as Ellington, Sugarland, West Houston Executive, Hooks and Conroe. The satellite repair station is staffed with four A&P technicians who can perform AOG and minor engine and airframe inspections, Pete Vandolzer, director of operations at the IAH facility, told AIN.
“Here at George Bush we can do up to heavy engine and airframe inspections but there are a lot of business aircraft at HOU so we felt it made sense to open a satellite to offer rapid response to transients and our customers based there,” he added.
StandardAero’s satellite can work on a range of corporate aircraft including Bombardier Learjet, Dassault Falcon Jet, Embraer Legacy, Cessna Citation, Hawker Beechcraft, Astra, Westwind and Gulfstream.
