Flying Colours KSUS Expands Refurb Business

When Peterborough, Ontario-based Flying Colours purchased JetCorp Technical Services of Chesterfield, Mo., in 2009, each company had a program for converting Bombardier CRJs into business jets: Flying Colours with its ExecLiner and JetCorp with its Renaissance offering, providing foundational synergies for the union. Happily, the two teams “have the same philosophies, the same way of doing things and the relationship has worked out far better than I would have dreamed,” Troy Funk, v-p, Technical Services at KSUS, told AIN.

Recently Flying Colours KSUS has set up a complete design engineering team. “They will be responsible for program design engineering for all major completions, including Global/Challenger/CRJ, across the two facilities,” Funk said. “It has been integral in supporting our reputation for expertise in working on the Challenger fleet and will provide the same level of support for the new 350.”

Both the KSUS and Peterborough locations are authorized Bombardier service facilities. Flying Colours KSUS also recently added approvals from Bombardier to perform maintenance on the Challenger 350 and Learjet 70/75 and authorization from Honeywell to work on the HTF7350 engine that powers the 350.
